Lapauw combines state of the art technology with the knowhow and experience of more than 400 installations worldwide, offering unparalleled versatility, efficiency and reliability.

The standard flow plan provides pre-wash and main wash in standing bath and rinse in counter flow, assuring maximal wash effect and dilution.

The large drum size and bottom transfer assure reliable and consistent transfer of the linen from compartment to compartment.

Last but not least, the standard tunnel configuration is equipped with 6 double drums on well defined locations in the process, giving you a versatile washing tunnel. The standard tunnel configuration also includes 2 water tanks, providing full control over the water consumption with consumption rates that can go as low as 2 liter/kg.

With a choice of loading capacities from 40 kg up to 120 kg and from 7 up to 20 compartments, the TransFLEX tunnel washer range provides you with the optimal solutions for your requirements. From small batches up to large batches.

The Lapauw double drum comes fully equipped with:

  • Drain
  • Connection for steam heating
  • Water entry connection
  • Connection for chemicals
  • Waterbox

Although the standard configuration already comes with 6 double drums, this number can be expanded indefinitely, even allowing you to operate a full double drum washing tunnel. This provides you with a tunnel and flowchart that are tailored specifically to your needs.

But flexibility means more than just double drums, as we offer a complete range of optional sensors like DMI’s and temperature sensors. Each drain can also be foreseen with a 3-way valve, giving you maximal control over the water flow.

Thanks to the high degree of flexibility and modularity, the Lapauw tunnel washer even allows rinsing in standing bath. Indispensable when you want to process batches of incompatible linen with a minimum of empty compartments.

With a diameter of 1.807 mm, the drum of the TransFLEX tunnel washer is one of the largest in the industry, giving the linen lots of space for free fall.

The carefully designed ribs are strategically located so that they take up all the linen along with the high swivel angles, up to 230°. The swivel angle can be adjusted to resort maximal effect.

Next to the large diameter and deep compartments, the scoop immediately catches the eye. Taking up about 40% of the drum size, the scoop transfers the linen according to the bottom transfer principle, but without pushing it back and forth like Archimedean screws do. In other words, the large scoop and deep compartments assure optimal linen transfer and minimize the risk of blockage or damage to the linen.

Moreover, the size and shape of the scoop assures maximal transfer, as the complete bath with water and detergents is transferred flawlessly from one compartment to the other.

Heating is done by a pre-heating circuit, where the steam does not heat the water and linen directly in the drum, but heats the water in a small circuit outside of the drum. This assures gentler heating and prevents direct contact between the hot steam and the linen.

The drive system is one of the most critical points of any system. This is why Lapauw opts for a redundant system with 4 independent, synchronized geared drive motors that give you maximal operational uptime. Simply said, a break down on one of the motors does not imply a tunnel standstill.

But the redundancy does not stop there, as each geared motor is equipped with 4 Vulkollan® drive wheels. The wheels run on a welded ring support of 50+ mm, assuring unparalleled strength and durability.

Another advantage of the 4-point drive system is the carefully studied positioning of the geared motors. This reduces the wear and tear on the tunnel, compared to single point drive systems.

The 4-point drive system, that guarantees better operational uptime, is not the only measure we take to provide you the lowest cost of ownership.

  • The 3 mm thick drum is welded on the outside and inside. This double weld assures significant longer life and better durability than other tunnels that are only welded on the outside.
  • All wetted parts are stainless steel and the seals are a mixture of EPDM and rubber, providing chemical resistance and mechanical strength.
  • The specific heating system, where the steam is not injected directly to the bath, also is gentler on the structure of the tunnel.

And, above all, the simple construction and open spare parts policy makes your tunnel easy to operate and maintain.

The TransFLEX tunnel washer is constructed in such a way that installation time and footprint are minimal.

The recovery tanks are already mounted on the tunnel, so that no valuable time is lost during installation and start-up. Also, they are constructed in such way that they fit completely in the footprint of the tunnel.

But installation and start-up is all about details. One of the horizontal support beams also functions as central drain for the compartments, as this excludes time consecrated to mounting central drain tubing.

The large touch screen with graphic display offers a good overview of the whole process, from tunnel washer to dryer.

Parameter settings and programming are simple, thanks to the intuitive set-up.
